Mr McGregor: My Weekend at Southend
Sunday, August 22, 2010 at 10:00
I have a great weekend planned for the 28th – 29th and it is going to be a cracker, every year I manage to get the family and myself down to Southend-on-sea and take a look at all the flowers at the Southend Summer Garden Show at Garon Park. It is a fantastic show, one of the best in the region and I have been able to draw so much inspiration from it through stunning displays of seasonal flowers and spectacular landscapes.
It is a great day out and costs very little (about £5 a person and children under 16 go free). After exploring all the gardens Mrs McGregor likes to see the little stores, sit down and enjoy some great food and the kids (when they were little) loved all the entertainment that is provided.
What has got me even more excited about this weekend is that on the Sunday there is also a beer & cider Festival at the Cliffs Pavilion. I have heard rumours that there will be over 20 real ales and ciders to enjoy as well as a garden BBQ during the day so the family and I will have to pay a visit after we have finished at the Garden Show.
However, I have a funny feeling the kids will be getting bored quite quickly.
